RULES OF CONDUCT FOR USERS OF SKIABLE AREAS

Art. 8 (Obligation to use a safety helmet for children under the age of fourteen)
In the course of practice Alpine skiing and snowboarding, it is compulsory to persons under the age of fourteen years to wear a protective helmet conforming to the characteristics described in paragraph 3.
The charge of breach of the provisions referred to in paragraph 1 is subject to an administrative sanction for payment of a sum to be 30 Euro per 150 Euro.
Within three months from the date of entry into force of this Act, the Minister of health, in consultation with the Minister of infrastructure and transportation, heard the competent organ of the CONES, shall determine by Decree the technical features of safety helmets as per paragraph 1, and determines how authorisation, the checks on conformity of production and appropriate controls.
Anyone who imports or manufactures to market helmets to noncompliant type the characteristics referred to in paragraph 3 is subject to an administrative sanction for payment of a sum to be 5.000 Euro per 100.000 Euro.
Anyone who sells protective helmets of type not in accordance with the characteristics referred to in paragraph 3 is subject to an administrative sanction for payment of a sum to be 500 Euro per 5.000 Euro.
Protective helmets do not comply with the characteristics laid down are subject to seizure by the judicial authorities.
The provisions of paragraphs 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 shall apply from 1 January 2005.
